Went on a short ride. On the way back to the truck, felt like the governor was kicking on at 34 mph.
Felt like a loss in power, saw the temp guage light up. Now within sight of the truck.
Suddenly the rig just dies and stops.
I look underneath, oil is blasted everywhere rear of the engine.
I check the dipstick, oil just registering on the very tip.
I drive the truck back and push it in the trailer.
Get home, and pour 2 qts of oil in and was going to see if it would kick over.
Check Engine Light is on and it won't start. Disconnect the battery for awhile. Reconnect with good voltage but CEL is still on and won't kick over.
I'm sure it overheated as soon as it started losing oil but I want to verify where it's losing oil. I suspect it's the rear seal but the engine won't kick over.
Is it in an engine protect mode?
