Neck Restraints

Hey everyone, I have a few questions about the neck braces for both desert and short course racing. Do i need to worried about the expiration date on the devices, I have a few friends that use to race rally cars with them and no longer use them but they are dated last year, Will these be ok. Do they really check the dates? If so where can i find a affordable D- Cell neck restraint?
