burnt up starter solenoid/relay and starter

First i want to say im new to the forum and i have a question about my Rhino 660. Last weekend i was riding with some friends. We stopped for a minute and when i turned the key to start the bike i heard a loud pop come from the battery box and nothing else. I removed the cover on the box but didnt notice anything unusual. I turned the key and it fired right up. i rode for about 15 minutes after the loud pop and then i notice the starter was sticking and when i turned the key off it would try to start by itself. After about 1 minute of it doing this i began to smell something electrical burning and then i had nothing. I believe it burnt up the solenoid/relay as well as the starter. I jumped the post on the solenoid with a screw driver and the starter trys to turn but it acts like a dead battery. it dies out when it comes to a compression stroke. Have any of you experienced this same issue?
