New to Rhinos, but not new to turning wrenches. I was just wondering if folks have good luck with front diff rebuilds ?
A little history: I traded for the 08 700 Rhino a few weeks ago (at a dealer). I had to replace front left wheel bearings. Then I decided to service all the brakes. That's when I discovered that the front right axle has slop where it enters the diff. (it's not the axle that's sloppy...it is definitely the diff.). I hope it's just a bearing that can be easily replaced.
Also - I went to see James at JBS and gave him my sheave for machining and bought the OD sliders and a new belt. Great guy. Very helpful. Can't wait to get it back and take her for a spin.
Just curious - should I try to make the dealer take care of the diff. issue ? It was a used unit, and I don't recall them ever specifically mentioning any kind of warranty. I'm gonna be irritated if I have to eat the whole cost. I traded in 2 very nice, clean, mechanically perfect machines. I expected to bring home the same.
Great forum....I've spent HOURS reading on here over the past few weeks.
