Got a lot of nasty sandy water in my belt housing last weekend and barely got back on the trailer with the belt slipping so bad. Of course, the belt is trashed, and there's crap all over the inside of the housing.
It's all cleaned out now, except for the actual faces of the sheaves. Any do's or dont's for cleaning them up? In the past I've just hosed them down with brake cleaner, but this time, something a little stronger may be needed.
Scotch brite pads? Degreaser? What are the recommendations from the experts?
