Need Help With Suspension Settings

I ordered a set of the CATVOS 3" arched lower a-arms for lift. For those who aren't familiar with the lift, it is a set of lower arms for both the front and rear suspension. You remove the stock lower a-arms and bolt in the aftermarket arms. It's not a long travel setup or anything like that. It maintains OEM width, giving a couple of inches of lift.

Anyway, my question isn't so much about how to install the lift, I already have the rear lower a-arms removed and the new ones ready to bolt in when the UPS truck gets here. I want to know how you would set up the preload and compression adjustments on Walker Evans Racking shocks for a good, smooth ride.

Here is where I am right now, ready to bolt in the new arched lower arms.

Here is what I want.
I'd like as smooth a ride as possible, with 13" of ground clearance. Is that possible?

I've run the WER shocks for a hundred or so miles with no lift. My rear ground clearance with 26" Bighorns and about 1" of preload threaded into the rear 400lb springs (from zero preload) is about 12". This seems a bit low to me, as others report 12" of ground clearance with 25" tires and shocks not cranked up. My ride was ok with the compression set to zero clicks out of 16, but not as good as I think it can be.

Here is a measurement of the rear spring adjustment collar at no preload, the rear spring loose.

And here is a pic of the spring preload collar the way I had it on my Rhino.

The ride was ok, like I said, but I feel like it could be better. It rode all right in the rear over small bumps and the like with no compression dampening dialed in on the clicker, but it would still bounce the rear tires off the ground coming out of gullies and washouts at speed. I'm not a suspension expert, but it felt like there I had too much preload. If I dialed in more compression dampening, the rear end seemed to pogo worse.

What I'd like to do with the new lifted a-arms is dial the preload back down, as much as possible, and then add compression dampening to suit. Would I run into any issues setting the threaded preload to just hand tight?

Any advice you can give about setting up a stock-ish suspension would be appreciated.
