Refining our sheave!!

Since we started machining our sheaves in house back in Nov. I have been able to play with the programming, change bits, feed rates etc to make our sheave the most accurate they have ever been.

When you use a CNC vertical mill not a manual one, every part comes out exactly the same every time.

We were able to draw all the points out in CAD then transfer to the machine in the programming, no guess work and every single machine pass identical to the next and in exactly in the same location and depth every time.

We use four different bits on the 660 and six bits on the 700

We make rough passes and finish passes for a mirror smooth finish on the machining.

I have to admit it was rather pain staking to get the programming correct but in the end the results are awesome.

Made a new change on the belt side of the 700 this week to a 6 flute taper bit to put a taper on the outside of the protrusion of the seal and on the inside of the protrusion too. Now the tapers are super smooth.

We now will machine your clean sheave instead of buying a new one. Only thing is, if we machine a rhino sheave unlike the grizzly sheave we use in the rhinos, you will get a slight amount of roller weight flop with the rhino sheave.
