Hello to all. here is my experience and please feel free to chime in at any moment. I had an absolute horrible experience with warn winch company and would like to share it. I recently purchased a 2013 commander that is roughly 6 months old. It has a warn xt 40 installed. Now my family and I have always been warn fans because they stood for quality and care towards their customer, or so I thought. We have 4 can am SxS with warn xt40. Our pick up truck alone has 2 winches , my brother's jeep has a warn winch. All In all, my family and I have spend over 5k in warn winches in the past 7 years. So recently my warn has started to become sticky. The switch clicks but no movement. Tap the winch with something and it starts to work. Solenoid problem.... Contact warn and told them my situation. I can find the solenoid for $45 but I was hoping that warn would be better to their customers and throw in a solenoid, considering the winch is 6 months old, and still under the original purchaser's warranty. to my surprise, I got a very rude email saying "here is the part number you need, here is the link for the part the warranty isn't transferable, have a nice day"
I asked them in good faith to please provide me with the part and I will install it. First of all, voiding a warranty because it's been sold by the original owner even though it still falls in that warranty time period is rubbish, and I don't agree with it. Spoke with upper level management at warn and was pretty much told to go away. I have never known warn to be like this. I have always read that they go the extra mile to please their customers. I felt like a slap in the face when we have spent over 5k and they couldn't throw in a $45 part after 6 months of use, original buyer or not. Fellow members, from now on, I'll go with viper max. So far, I've read nothing but good customer service. Let's hope they don't lose sight of who we are, the little guys that actually make the difference. Warn only has a name that they can't live up to.
I will be posting this on other forums, so let's hope things change.
