I recently bought my first SXS (09 rhino 700efi) everything is stock. It was making a knocking noise in the clutch. the seller told me the wieghts were needing greased in the clutch. I watched some videos and found a repair manual. I took the cover off and started it. When you give it gas and sheave starts to move in the noise starts. I took the 8 screws and the the main nut off and pulled everything loose. I pulled cam cover out and sheave is full of grease. I took the rollers out (cleaned them) and each roller has 2 flat spots, both about a 1/4" wide. And the sliders on the cover have about a 1/8-1/4" play between them and the cover. Is the slack in the sliders a big deal? and what about the flats spots? The unit runs about 31mph tops, and being the first one ive owned im kinda lost on the whole situation. Do i need to replace everything, or just rollers and the 4 sliders? Im in it cheap enough id like to get it fixed right and maybe doing a little extra to get more speed. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. If my words or descriptions isnt right let me know. Member im new.
